SPFX Makeup Day 2: Old Age Cont, Losing Eyebrows (Where did they go?!), and Character Contour

***Click here to view all photos for the day***

On day two the new MUA's got to work on creating old age makeup looks on themselves, using inspiration from popular characters and people. They learned how to enhance their own lines and the creases of their faces, as well as alter features to match the people they were trying to become. Below is a prime example of Katie as Marcus Pork (super cool designer man) and some other looks:

Next, we were taught how to block out our eyebrows. Many a brow disappeared by way of Elmer's glue, orange cream paint, translucent powder, and foundation. The process begins by using an Elmer's glue stick to glue the eyebrows down flush with the face. Once this dries orange or yellow cream paint is used to correct the cool tones of the hairs to better mask them. With each layer of this paint is set with translucent powder. Finally, all of this is covered with foundation to make the eyebrows ✨disappear✨. This technique will come in handy for day three when we do character makeup! Here are some pictures of the process:

Finally, I (Sabrina) taught the new MUA's about character contour and how to use the layering of pressed eyeshadows to create depth. This will come in handy for the fantasy makeup to come as it allows one to alter the structure of the face. I used the makeup look that I worked on throughout the day as an example of how this contour could be used as well as modeling the steps on Sophia O. First, one maps out the shape of the contour with a brown eye-shadow. Next one fills in the area of the shadow with black eye-shadow. Make sure to blend it out downwards using circular or tapping motions! Lastly one adds depth by going over the black with a navy blue or cool toned grey eye-shadow. If it needs more blending into the skin use the brown to create a natural taper!

Whilst the lessons of the day went on Jayla and I worked on some character looks. I ended up having to teach in mine which was quite entertaining, or so I've heard. Here are some pictures of those looks below:
