SFX Day 7: Final Looks

On the last day of the term, the MUAs worked on our second final looks! This was our final chance to use the skills we learned over the past week to transform ourselves into masterpieces from our wildest dreams. Some of our inspirations included aliens, animals, fantasy creatures, movie characters, and of course, Pinterest.

Jayla (left) dedicated her time to painting a gorgeously detailed Spider-man suit that covered half of her face and extended to her neck complete with rhinestone rings around her eyes. Declan (right) fashioned a fake mustache and used scar wax to transform into a Klingon, which was something he had been wanting to do for the whole term! Meanwhile, Sophia O (center) blocked out her brows and used liquid latex over one eye to create a Coraline-inspired gore look that further solidified her status as the queen of trauma makeup.

The gore queen wasn't the only MUA to have no eyebrows; Isa's (center) brows were nowhere to be seen, buried under a blue and white sky surrounded by bloody shark teeth she fashioned out of modeled plastic! Aurora (center) went browless, bathed her face in clown white, and used a steady hand to create blue and orange alien markings inspired by Pinterest. I (Katie - right) was also inspired by Pinterest to decorate my face with colorful balloon-like shapes that overlapped with my partially blocked eyebrows.

Other final looks included Sabrina's striking 3D moth (top left), Aya's vampire bat (top right), Sophia W's carefully crafted flowery gore look (bottom left), and Eleanor's gorgeous mermaid (bottom left). Overall, this day was a great close to the 2024 SFX J-Term! Each MUA worked so hard and gave it their all; we were able to let imagination and creativity run wild, which was, for many of us, a much-needed release. Many thanks to Ms. Bowman, Ms. Vasquez, and all the returners for making this experience so incredible!
